Myra Aviles, Owner, Esthetican

Believing in her creative approach and trusting her perceptive touch is why clients of Myra Aviles, co-founder and operator of “The Upper Level Spa” in San Diego, California, have trusted her with the rejuvenation of their faces, bodies and souls for nearly a decade!

Upon entering the spa industry, Myra established herself with great enthusiasm in the specialized trade of resort services. Almost instantly she was recognized for her diligent mastery of skills as well as for her ability to guide others effectively. She soon welcomed the challenge of being assigned to a “lead” position within a multi-million dollar five star resort spa.

This unique arrangement allowed Myra the rare chance to gain the immeasurable experience of working directly with doctors, surgeons, RN’s and licensed field specialists in both a clinical and esthetic setting. While there, she gained knowledge and a keen insight to the value of IPL lasers, “”Clear light”” and “Relume” extended skin therapy options.

Through these many career successes, Myra’s focus has always remained – sincerely listening to her clients in order to provide them the best experience possible. Myra will help anyone achieve the rejuvenation of the mind, body and soul they really need.

Raunette Vaughn, Owner, Esthetican

Raunette Vaughn has been working in the field of Esthetics for nearly a decade now. At the age of 12 years old her skin began to breakout due to hormones. She suffered the embarrassment of acne for about six years. She tried many medications such as, Retin-A, Accutane and birth control with little to no results and many other side effects such as hair loss, rashes, redness and weight gain. Finally at the age of 18 years old she decided to invest in a series of facials and a simple home care regimen. Day by day her skin continued to clear. She was taught the importance of properly cleaning her skin and educated on each product she was using. She also began to drink more water and eat more fruits and vegetables. She began to understand her skin. This was just the beginning of her journey in the field of Esthetics. She wanted to teach others and give them the confidence of having healthy skin.

Raunette offers a variety of services such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, facials, microcurrent face lifts, waxing/sugaring, lash & brow tinting, mineral make up applications and airbrush tanning. She feels blessed to have such a loyal clientele and loves helping them look and feel their best!

Raunette has worked diligently to improve her practice by educating herself with the latest and greatest treatments and products. Attending advanced courses nationwide and handpicking each product she carries has allowed her to personalize treatments and skin care products to meet each clients needs.

Krista – Esthetican

With years of dealing with clients that expressed skin concerns as well as dealing with her own, she decided that she no longer wanted to just hide the problems, however wanted to help correct them as well.

After attending Marinello School of Beauty and receiving her Aesthetics license Krista went on and worked at European Wax Center as a Wax Specialist and helped open the first one in Southern California. While working at European Wax she also attended multiple Aesthetics seminars and tutorials as well as obtaining her eyelash extension certification through Xtended Beauty. Once realizing that she wanted to do more than solely waxing with her license,  Krista moved on to work with The Upper Level Spa team as one of the Estheticians, which has now enabled her to incorporate all of her passions under one roof.

Gabriella – Esthetican

Gabrielle is a licensed esthetician seeking endless opportunities in the aesthetics world. She realizes that new techniques and advancements are always being discovered in this forever revolving industry and will continue to be educated on these developments. While striving to do her best, and to know she is there to serve others leaves her with a great sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.

As a native of Arizona, Gabrielle grew up with the dryness of the desert all around her. During her early years of high school, with herself as well as others struggling from typical teenage skin problems, is when she first realized the true importance of one’s skin and the affect it has on oneself. Recently moving to California about a year and a half ago, opened up a new chapter which allowed for her to pursue her passion of skin care.

She studied at Marinello School of Beauty to acquire her facial/waxing skills and upon receiving her license she has been keeping up on different training classes throughout San Diego. Gabrielle has just recently had the pleasure of joining The Upper Level Spa aesthetics team, and is ready to help others with their skin care needs.

Amanda – Esthetican

From a young age Amanda suffered from acne. After seeing an Esthetician in her early 20’s and committing to following her daily recommendation for skin care products at home and along with regular facial treatments, her skin improved tremendously. She developed a great appreciation for Aesthetics and came to understand the importance of proper skin care. Since then Amanda attended Marinello School of Beauty and continues to attend classes to further her education in skin care.
