Myra Aviles, Owner, Esthetican

Believing in her creative approach and trusting her perceptive touch is why clients of Myra Aviles, co-founder and operator of “The Upper Level Spa” in San Diego, California, have trusted her with the rejuvenation of their faces, bodies and souls for nearly a decade!

Upon entering the spa industry, Myra established herself with great enthusiasm in the specialized trade of resort services. Almost instantly she was recognized for her diligent mastery of skills as well as for her ability to guide others effectively. She soon welcomed the challenge of being assigned to a “lead” position within a multi-million dollar five star resort spa.

This unique arrangement allowed Myra the rare chance to gain the immeasurable experience of working directly with doctors, surgeons, RN’s and licensed field specialists in both a clinical and esthetic setting. While there, she gained knowledge and a keen insight to the value of IPL lasers, “”Clear light”” and “Relume” extended skin therapy options.

Through these many career successes, Myra’s focus has always remained – sincerely listening to her clients in order to provide them the best experience possible. Myra will help anyone achieve the rejuvenation of the mind, body and soul they really need.

Raunette Vaughn, Owner, Esthetican

With 13 years experience in the health and beauty industry, Raunette Celeste is dedicated providing each client with consistent and personalized service to help them look and feel like their most beautiful and balanced self.

She is passionate about the products used at The Upper Level Spa and only uses superior quality, organic, and affordable products and therapies. Her mission is to educate, treat and heal through esthetics remedies.

Raunette is living both her personal and professional life to the fullest. She is a California Licensed Esthetician with additional training and certification in sugaring, chemical peels, dermablading, microdermabrasion, mineral makeup application and airbrush tanning, with extensive training in more than 20 professional product lines.

Raunette is highly regarded as a diligent professional and has excelled in both the corporate and small business environments.  She co-found The Upper Level Spa in 2007 and works daily to provide a simple, warm, clean environment for staff and customers to enjoy. In 2010 she joined forces with Ladida Sugaring to provide professional sugaring training and products to estheticians and cosmetologists.

An inspirational, motivational mentor, she guides and encourages her clients to embrace healthy living with the clear intention of increasing the beauty of their lives.

Rebecca Aviles- Esthetician, Massage Practitioner

Rebecca developed a deep interest in herbal remedies at a young age by attending herbal training classes which use herbs such as chamomile, lavender and other natural herbs for health and beauty maintenance. She also began to grow her own herbs enabling her to experiment with different remedies for both internal and external health.

In Rebecca’s youth, she suffered from overwhelming amounts of cystic acne. As Rebecca expanded her knowledge in alternative remedies she began to incorporate them into her skin care regime. Sparking a deep interest in perfecting her techniques, Rebecca went on to enroll in Bellus Academy Esthetics program. Excelling with fast rate and maintaining top in her class, Rebecca continued with Master Esthetics which focuses on deep peels, microdermabrasion and performing treatments in series so clients receive the full benefit of products with visible results. Wanting to give her clients the most informative and relaxing experience possible, Rebecca stayed in school to complete her massage practitioner certification.

Rebecca is continuing to perfect her techniques here at The Upper Level Spa while growing with her clients.

 Kelly Fritz, Esthetican

Years ago, in her early twenties, Kelly had a terrible experience getting a bikini wax and vowed that she could do better. A decade later and hundreds of bikini waxes later, she now works at the Upper Level Spa. Kelly started out her career in esthetics in April 2003 in Pacific Beach. Her career has taken her from the beach to Hillcrest to downtown San Diego and eventually to Coronado where she owned her own spa from 2006-2010.

Kelly has been performing sugaring hair removal her entire career and is co-owner of the sugar company, “la-Di-Da”, that makes their own sugar and trains other professionals how to use sugar.

Her passion is providing a quick, comfortable hair removal experience. She also loves to help people with their skin.  She excels in helping those with acne conditions and anyone who wants to correct sun damage and signs of aged skin, such as hyper-pigmentation and fine lines. She has personally reversed her own sun damage and knows how to get results.

 Kristin Brown, Esthetican

Kristen has always had a passion for helping people look and feel their most beautiful and healthy self. She started out over 6 years ago in the Health and Beauty industry as a professional makeup artist and special occasion hair stylist. Kristen’s experience includes being lead makeup artist and stylist on countless weddings, photo shoots and fashion shows. As her skills advanced so did her desire to offer more beneficial services to her clients beyond the one time “makeover”.

Following in her sister’s footsteps (Kelly Fritz pictured above) Kristen gained her license in aesthetics. She enjoys teaching others on how to nourish their skin and stresses the importance on how best to take care of their skin on a daily basis not just in the treatment room, believing the best results come from effort in both areas.

Kristen offers relaxing and beneficial facials, sugaring and waxing hair removal, airbrush makeup applications and lessons. She loves being a part of the Upper Level Spa family and is coming out with her own makeup line soon.

 Mailette Lopez, Esthetican

Mailette has been in the skin care and beauty industry for over 10 years. She has had a passion for beauty ever since she was a little girl playing spa day with her sisters. Whether she was experimenting with some new make-up idea, waxing her sisters’ eyebrows or concocting skin care products from her kitchen, she knew this is what she wanted to do when she grew up.

Mailette waxed for years, but learned about sugar hair removal and has been sugaring ever since. Sugaring is all natural, less painful, and 100% sanitary. She believes in the superiority of sugaring and became the co-owner and co-creator of La-Di-Da Chic Sugar Paste.

Mailette realizes that choosing an esthetician is a very personal and she will always provide the best customer service. Her goal is to make every person she sees feel their best.
